Waking up in a strange bathhouse, a boy finds himself surrounded by animal-like spirits such as these —
These Guests have bizarre demands and hidden agendas. The boy must Scrub tubs, stoke the boiler, cook exotic meals… every task is a clue to his escape—or become a meal for the spirits in the spirit feast festival. Some spirits eye him hungrily; others weave tricks to keep him trapped and most want the boy to themselves as a forever loyal bathhouse special human attendant. Can he satisfy the guest and get home? That’s where you come in.

Befriend Spirits
Many spirits either want to eat you or keep you as a loyal special human attendant. Befriend spirits by giving them gifts and in exchange, they’ll give you a gift back which can ultimately help you escape the bathhouse.
Stoke the Furnace
Chuck coals into the furnace with your spirit friend’s help to heat up the baths. Be careful not to explode the furnace – or try and maybe it’ll reveal a secret area!

I traveled to Japan to capture its essence—bathhouse serenity, yokai whispers, the weight of tradition. With my two artists, we are showcasing our game’s vision to bring this game to life. Now, we need your help to finish it. $75,000 funds our art: every character, environment, and animation that makes this spirit world breathe, music: Sound effects, Background music, voice acting that can pull you into this immersive bathhouse fantasy, coding: game mechanics, UI design so that the gameplay is fun to play, and finally translations for people that want to play the game in their native language.
I’m Kevin, an indie dev who poured my heart into Harvest Island. Now, with an amazing artist by my side, A Journey’s End is my next big dream— a game about a boy that is forced to work in the bathhouse and he must escape before the spirit feast festival arrives which is very much inspired by the anime movie Spirited Away.
